I am Lainnir, a teacher, freelance writer and historian from the Philippines. I have many interests (i.e. writing, astronomy, philosophy, theology, archaeology, history, etc.) and the love for captured images just came in when I was in my freshman year in college.
The love for photography was spurred by my love for film and in a sense, every angle of the lens, every tweak of the shutter, every zoom of an image, represents my eye for the extraordinary within an ordinary object. The Greek philosopher Plato was right. The things we call real are just reflections of the invisible things that are more real and cannot tarnish.
And so here is my quest for images. I long to capture what the Philippines (my country) is like, including every place I go to. But more than that, I want to capture who I am inside . . . by showing you guys my eyes.
The eye for beauty in the mundane. The eye for my longing, my sehnsucht as C.S. Lewis points it out. My eye for something beyond what I see or touch.
For those who see the invisible, can do the impossible.
